We start with the core value that all children are entitled to the best start possible. Early intervention happens where your child already lives and plays: at home, in child care, or out in the community. A plan built with your family guides what we work on together. That has been true here since 1953.
Rooms are set up so children can reach what they need and move how they move. Toys sit low on shelves. A quiet corner holds cushions and books. Teachers kneel to a child's eye level and follow what that child is working on.
A therapist may sit on the floor beside a child stacking blocks, working on balance and speech in the same game. Equipment is chosen for each child, not pulled off a shelf. Ask the director what your child's day would hold.
What a day looks like
Mornings start with hellos. A teacher greets your child by name and helps them put their bag in their cubby. Children go straight to a favorite toy or a familiar seat. The room settles as everyone arrives.
Midday is for play, small groups, snacks and rest. Children move between floor play and table activities with a teacher nearby. Some go outside when the weather allows. Others lie down with a book or a soft toy.
Afternoon is quieter. Children finish projects, help tidy up and gather their things. At pickup, a teacher tells you one thing your child did that day. You leave knowing how the hours went.
How we work with families
At pickup, teachers share what your child did and how they seemed. If you have a question, ask then or set a time to talk longer. Staff will connect you with the right person.
The first weeks are handled through ongoing home visits as needed, so problems can be addressed as they arise. During an initial home visit, the nurse conducts an intake interview to determine your family’s needs and goals, then helps you develop plans to meet them. She coordinates services with other agencies when required. To arrange this, call the center.

See the classroom your child would join and meet the teachers who run it. Ask anything you like while you are there.

Enroll and settle in
Complete enrollment and plan a first week that suits your child's routine. We will tell you what to bring and when to start.

Can we visit before deciding?
Yes. A tour is how families decide. Children can come along and see the rooms, the toys, and the people who would spend the day with them.
What should my child bring on the first day?
Pack a change of clothes, a comfort item and anything your child needs during the day. Label everything with your child's name. Ask us if you are unsure about something.
Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?

What if there is no place right now?
You can ask to be contacted when a place opens for your child's age. We will tell you where things stand when you call.
